Instructions for administering the Math Placement exam.


  • Go to Welcome to MathClass  

  • Select Kemtp -> KEMTP Practice Test. (The student can try some practice exams for experience if needed).

  • Click on Retrieve Primary Practice exam

  • Ignore the stuff above Question 1. Take 24 minutes to work and answer the first 12 questions.

  • Go the bottom of the test and Press Submit and Record results. The test administrator should verify the score.

  • If the student gets 4 or more, they can take Ma 109

  • If the student gets 8 or more, they can take Ma 123 (but they only satisfy the basic math skills requirement if they pass Ma 123).

  • If the student gets 10 or more, they can take Ma 113 if they have had precalculus (sometimes known as advanced math) with trig.
