Textbook: Calculus, Early Transcendentals, 2nd edition, by J. Rogawski
Common syllabus and course calendar can be found on the common web page. All information, including exam dates and homework due dates, can be found in these documents. You are responsible for being aware of all due dates!
The recitation worksheets can also be found on the common web page. You need to have them accessible (printed or electronically) in recitation.
Be aware of the policies for the course spelled out in the common syllabus.

WW, Quizzes, Attendance	100 points
Total	500 points

The 100 points for WW, quizzes, and attendance are computed as follows:

WebWork:	120
Quizzes:	40
Attendance in Lecture:	40
Total divided by 2:	100

Your grade will be based on the number of points you earned according to the following scheme:

Total Course Points (out of 500)	At least 450	At least 400	At least 350	At least 300
Final Course Grade	A	B	C	D

Information on MA 194:

See the common syllabus for the rules concerning MA 194. Consider MA 194 as a purely technical construction. All credit (detailed in the grading section on the common web page) goes toward your grade for MA 114, and the pass/fail grade of MA 194 is solely based on attendance as explained in the common syllabus.

Attendance and Classroom Behavior:

I will take classroom attendance about 20 times randomly throughout the semester. The teaching assistants will take attendance for recitations every time (see policy for MA 194). Your attendance score for your MA 114 grade will be based on the percentage of lectures you attend. See the sections on Grading and on Policies on the common web page. For attendance I expect you to be on time in class, stay until dismissed and work on the assigned task.

Email Etiquette:

The best way to get in touch with me is by email. Do not send emails in text message format! A proper email has the following ingredients:

concise and meaningful information in the subject line;
a courteous greeting and closing (may be skipped for a reply email within a couple of hours);
a body of the text that is written in complete sentences with proper spelling (including capitalization), grammar, and punctuation (you are a COLLEGE student!);

For the sake of professionalism, I suggest to turn off settings that cause your email to say ``sent from my iPhone'' or similar. Most recipients are not interested in commercials at the end of emails (or elsewhere) .

Seeking Help:

If you need help with the course, contact me as soon as possible. Do not wait with seeking help. It is very hard to catch up in a Math course after falling behind.
